Black Rifle Raffles Inc., co-founded by Kevin Forshey and Darrel Kluge, merges innovative technology and philanthropy to support veterans in VA hospice care. Kevin Forshey, the founder of Myndtek, developed a system using wearable devices such as Fitbit or Garmin to gather physiological data and predict potential mental health crises. By combining this data with self-reported experiences, the platform aims to offer a proactive approach to mental health care. They offer what is called Data Driven Therapy.

Darrel Kluge, an army veteran, and the founder of 605 Raffles—an innovative and transparent raffle platform—partnered with Forshey through their connection in the Startup Sioux Falls SaaS software accelerator program. Together, they launched Black Rifle Fundraisers with a mission to provide wearable devices and Myndtek’s Data Driven Therapy platform to veterans in VA hospice care. To be admitted to VA hospice care, a veteran must have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the disease runs its natural course. There are approximately 20,000 veterans in VA hospice at any given time.

The organization encourages participating veterans to explore various spiritual practices, including reciting the Lord’s Prayer, engaging in online zoom led group healing prayers, chanting 'Om,' listening to Gregorian chants, praying the rosary, and practicing daily lessons from A Course in Miracles. Each of these practices inspires higher healing levels on Dr. David Hawkins’ Map of the Scale of Consciousness. By tracking physiological data during these activities, Black Rifle Fundraisers aims to assess potential improvements in mental health outcomes tied to these practices. This approach combines Data-Driven Therapy with holistic support, offering veterans meaningful care during end-of-life.
